Highlands Presbyterian Church was born in the Spring of 2009 when the Beattystown, Pleasant Grove, and Schooley's Mountain Presbyterian Churches voted to merge into a new faith community. For many years these congregations had informally shared fellowship, Bible Studies, Worship, and Pastoral Support. While each Church has a rich history of its own, we increasingly felt called by God to share our gifts and resources with each other. In 2006, we began
intentional redevelopment work, funded in part by Newton Presbytery, which resulted in each of the three congregations taking significant steps in faith. On the same morning we merged, chose our new name, elected and ordained our first officers, we then walked together into the future trusting God to show us the way as Highlands Presbyterian Church. We are a congregation in the Highlands Presbytery, https://highlandspresbyterynj.org/, part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) www.pcusa.org. Come and join us on the journey! |
